The Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) is launching registration for its signature introductory incentive travel certification, with its next in-person training course taking place May 21-22, 2023 at IMEX Frankfurt.
SITE’s Certified Incentive Travel Specialist (CIS) designation is awarded to incentive travel professionals who successfully complete this two-day training, followed by an online exam to showcase their newfound knowledge.
This year’s IMEX Frankfurt CIS workshop will be led by Michael Dalton, member-at-large on SITE’s International Board of Directors and a globally recognized incentive travel leader.
“I completed the CIS program myself years ago during IMEX and, as a result, developed a comprehensive appreciation and understanding of incentive travel and the role it plays in business,” says Michael. “CIS helped me throughout my career as an incentive travel professional in the DMC, agency and corporate sectors, building out my knowledge, skills and expertise and contributing massively to my own success as a business owner.”
Topics covered during the CIS training at IMEX Frankfurt include how incentive programs are designed, what motivates people to achieve greater performance, and the positive impacts of incentive travel on business results.
CIS is open to anyone, including non-SITE members. SITE is also debuting a new bundled offer at IMEX Frankfurt that combines CIS registration and a discounted SITE membership.
Taking part in CIS is a unique way for new incentive professionals to connect into the SITE community, says SITE CEO Annette Gregg. It’s the right fit for anyone who is new to the industry and is looking to gain the knowledge and skills needed for a variety of incentive travel roles.
“Incentive travel is a specialist niche within the business events industry, connected inextricably to a business’s culture and reward & recognition program,” says Annette. “While it involves the creation of an extraordinary travel experience, the travel is simply the tip of the iceberg. SITE’s CIS program is incentive travel 101, taking participants down into the iceberg and equipping them with a deeper understanding of why incentive travel leads to better business results.”

The cost for the 2023 Frankfurt training is $695 USD for SITE members and $895 USD for non-members. The non-member rate also includes a one-year SITE membership for individuals who are new to the association.
