CHICAGO, 21 March 2022 – The Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) has concluded its second annual Incentive Summit Europe in Geneva / Montreux, bringing over 50 incentive travel professionals from 18 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa to Switzerland for 3 glorious days of connecting, learning and discovering a stunning destination.
Participants enjoyed a deep immersion in contrasting Swiss locations, Geneva and Montreux, engaging in unique destination experiences including a 3-hour watchmaking workshop and an innovative wine listening experience, curated by Kim Arazi of Innosensi in Lavaux, a UNESCO heritage site comprising 13 traditional wine-producing villages.
Commenting on the event, SITE President Kevin Edmunds, CIS, CITP, said “SITE’s incentive summit series is boutique by design, focused on fostering quality relationships, great peer-to-peer learning and a truly immersive destination experience. This year in Geneva and Montreux, 50 incentive travel professionals fell madly in love with Switzerland, explored the future of incentive travel with award-winning magician and futurist Ferdinando Buscema, and built sustaining friendships that’ll endure into the future”.
Barbra Albrecht, Head of Switzerland Convention & Incentive Bureau (SCIB), added “Incentive Summit Europe will return to Andermatt in Switzerland in 2024 following previous editions in Verbier, Geneva and Montreux. We are proud to support it and greatly value the opportunities its boutique scale affords us to build purposeful, meaningful relationships with incentive travel professionals. Switzerland offers so many contrasting experiences and we’re delighted to have been able to showcase this during our time in Geneva and Montreux”.
Participants at ISE also enjoyed privatized access to the chalets of the late Claude Nobs, legendary founder of the Montreux Jazz Festival. Located at 2000m, high over Montreux, this was the party of all parties and included an emotional moment when rare footage of performances at Montreux by Leonard Cohen, David Bowie and Prince was presented in Claude Nobs’ private screening room.
