Meet SITE's new Sponsorship Relations Specialist

As SITE continues to grow, we're expanding our team to make sure our members and the wider incentive travel community have plenty of ways to keep connecting, learning, discovering, and shaping the future of our industry and association.

To better serve and meet the needs of the many industry partners that support SITE's work, we're excited to introduce one of our newest team members, Mella Whitaker.

---------------------------

Q: What made you interested in joining the SITE HQ team?

A: Joining the SITE HQ team has been an exhilarating experience for me, as I've long admired SITE's exceptional work and dedication to uniting professionals within the dynamic incentive travel industry.

My passion for this field began at 19 when I fell in love with the industry while working in the casino sector. This early exposure inspired me to pursue a Marketing Business degree and later, join MC&A, where the National Team played a crucial role in deepening my industry knowledge and encouraging my involvement with SITE.

Q: How have you been able to translate your previous industry experience into your new SITE role?

A: My diverse background, spanning multiple industries, has equipped me with valuable skills that I'm eager to apply in my new role.

I'm particularly excited about engaging with SITE's industry partners and sponsors, as we all share the common goal of providing the best experiences for our clients worldwide.

Drawing from my experience in gaming and destination marketing, I aim to help sponsors maximize their potential with each contract, ensuring timeliness, organization, and a tailored approach to meet each company's unique needs. To maintain strong relationships with key industry contacts, I believe in bringing positivity, enthusiasm for improvement, and a commitment to ownership and candid communication.

As our team and association grows, I look forward to adapting our processes and contributing to SITE's continued success in connecting more industry professionals.

Q: Where would your dream incentive travel reward take you?

A: Choosing a dream incentive travel reward is a challenging question for me, as my passion for exploring the world has been a lifelong aspiration.

Since childhood, I have envisioned visiting iconic wonders such as the Great Wall of China and the Pyramids of Giza, as well as the enchanting castles in Ireland that my grandmother spoke of so fondly. Selecting just one destination feels nearly impossible, given the rich tapestry of culture, history, and culinary delights that our planet offers.

Q: What do you enjoy most about engaging with SITE’s different industry partners and sponsors?

A: Although I have yet to venture beyond the United States, I am eager to engage with our global partners and experience the diverse landscapes and traditions they represent.

The world is filled with extraordinary places waiting to be discovered, and I look forward to the day when I can explore them firsthand. Each destination holds unique stories and experiences that inspire me, making the prospect of international travel all the more exciting.

Mella will work directly with many of our sponsors and key industry partners, as our Sponsorship Relations Specialist. Welcome to the SITE team, Mella!
