Global Conference is SITE’s signature event, the annual meeting point for our global community of incentive travel professionals to connect, learn, discover a truly inspiring city and celebrate SITE’s 50 years of incentive travel excellence.
In 2023, SITE Global Conference will take place in New York City from February 17-20, returning after 50 years to the city where SITE was born in December 1973.
As we prepare to celebrate 50 years of incentive travel excellence, SITE is now accepting proposals from anyone interested in speaking at the 2023 Global Conference.
SITE’s call for speakers is open from July 21-September 1, 2022. Conference speakers will be selected by a peer-reviewed process, with evaluations conducted by top experts in the field.
Reviewers are specifically looking for:
- Leaders and innovators in the incentive travel industry
- New tools and techniques that will foster business growth and audience engagement
- Best practices that others can learn from
- Speakers who push the boundaries of what is happening now — and make attendees think about how to prepare for the future
- Actionable, real-life examples attendees can take back and implement in their workplaces
The 2023 conference program includes a range of presentation formats, including:
- Industry stage talks (20 mins): featuring best practices, updates on industry shifts & trends, and incentive design sessions led by peers. These sessions will be a combination of lecture-style learning, question/answer, and reflections.
- Learning lab sessions (45–60 mins): a transformative breakout session, where participants are guided through a session and leave with fresh ideas and everyone has opportunities to interact with each other and ideas presented.
- Dialogue dens (45 mins): boutique sessions that offer a chance to engage in intimate, small group conversations about important industry topics. These presentations create the space needed to learn from peers in an open, facilitated format. Dens will be tech-free and follow a “fireside chat” format.
- Collaborator case studies (15 mins): these case study sessions showcase the invaluable international SITE community and highlight member-led, cross-country incentive program collaborations. Session presenters must represent a minimum of two countries and need to be SITE members.
If you’re interested in speaking at Global Conference 2023, here are a few initial insights to help you get started in pulling together a successful proposal:
- Show direct alignment to the conference theme: Celebrating 50 years of Incentive Travel Excellence.
- Avoid jargon and overly broad information about your content in your submission. Make sure your goals are clear and specific.
- Explain how you plan to engage participants through your presentation style; help the review committee specifically understand how you intend to engage attendees.
- Share current experiences and challenges that are relevant to your audience. Attendees tell us the sessions they value most are those that deal with real challenges and how they have been/are being addressed. Sessions that share experience, tools/techniques and give attendees actionable takeaways to work with are the most popular.
- Nail the basics — be sure you’ve completed all sections of the submission form, stuck to word limits, and submit on time: September 1, 2022, is this year’s deadline.
Thanks for celebrating incentive travel excellence with SITE — we can’t wait to read this year’s speaker submissions, and to connect, learn, discover, and celebrate the industry’s future with plenty of talented presenters in New York City this February!
