The Adriatic: Europe’s Emerging Incentive Region

The SITE Adriatic Affiliate represents Croatia, Slovenia and Montenegro—three neighbouring countries working together to position the Adriatic as one of Europe’s most exciting emerging incentive destinations. While each country offers a distinct identity, together they provide exceptional diversity within a compact and easily accessible region. Croatia combines its internationally renowned coastline and islands with authentic inland experiences, outstanding gastronomy and outdoor activities. Slovenia offers a unique blend of the Alps, the Mediterranean and vibrant cities, supported by its internationally recognised commitment to sustainability. Montenegro complements the region with dramatic coastal scenery, luxury resorts, exclusive venues and memorable land and sea experiences. Although most incentive programmes focus on a single destination, clients also have the flexibility to combine two countries, creating richer regional experiences while maintaining short travel distances.

Through education, networking, knowledge sharing and international partnerships, the Affiliate supports professional development while encouraging collaboration between destinations, DMCs, hotels and experience providers. Established in Istria, Croatia, the Affiliate builds on the region’s strong engagement with SITE, where more than 30 professionals have already earned the Certified Incentive Specialist (CIS) designation. Serving as the Affiliate’s founding base, Istria continues to play an important role in its development. Today, the Affiliate’s mission is to showcase the Adriatic as a connected region that delivers authentic experiences, outstanding hospitality and world-class incentive programmes for international clients.
