Meet Kristina Chaplin, SITE Foundation Trustee, as she shares what inspired her to get involved, the impact serving on the Board has had on her, and her advice for members considering applying for the 2027 Foundation Board of Trustees.
What inspired you to get involved with the SITE Foundation and ultimately serve on the Foundation Board of Trustees?
Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to build incredible relationships and learn from so many talented people in our industry. Serving on the SITE Foundation Board felt like a natural way to give back to a community that has meant so much to me professionally and personally.
What I love most about the Foundation is that we’re investing in the future of our industry through research, education, and professional development. The opportunity to help support that work and contribute alongside such respected industry leaders was something I was very excited to be a part of moving forward.
What has been the most rewarding part of serving as a Foundation Trustee?
For me, it’s been the people and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. I’ve really enjoyed working with fellow trustees who bring different perspectives and experiences but share the same passion for advancing our industry. It’s rewarding to know that our efforts help support research and professional development initiatives that will benefit the incentive travel community for years to come.
How has serving on FBOT impacted you personally or professionally?
Serving on the Foundation Board has given me a broader perspective on our industry and the important work being done to demonstrate the value of incentive travel around the world.
It’s also allowed me to build relationships with incredible leaders across our industry and learn from their experiences. Personally, it’s been very fulfilling to be part of an organization that’s focused on supporting future talent, including our Young Leaders, and strengthening the industry we all care so deeply about.
What advice would you give to someone applying for the 2027 Foundation Board of Trustees?
I would encourage anyone who is passionate about our industry and interested in giving back to apply. The Foundation plays an important role in supporting research, professional development, and the future growth of incentive travel. Come with an open mind, a willingness to contribute, and a collaborative spirit. You’ll get so much out of the experience, but even more importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to help make a positive impact on our industry!
