SITE Sets Sail with Help Save the Med: A Global Partnership for Education, Sustainability, and Impact
SITE is proud to be part of an exciting new journey with Help Save the Med, a partnership that will bring the SITE flag to ports across 24 countries and territories over the next three years.
Officially launched from Monaco on May 4, the expedition marks the beginning of a unique collaboration focused on environmental awareness, education, and community engagement throughout the Mediterranean region. The SITE flag now proudly flies aboard the vessel, symbolizing our shared commitment to creating positive impact through global connections.
The Monaco departure was a memorable milestone, with SITE prominently represented alongside the SITE France Chapter. Several members attended the launch to celebrate the start of this ambitious adventure and demonstrate the power of collaboration within our global community.
Just weeks later, the expedition reached its first stopover in the beautiful Italian coastal town of Alassio, where the initiative has already generated significant local interest and enthusiasm. The SITE Italy Chapter has expressed strong interest in supporting the program through logistical assistance and the possibility of organizing SITE gatherings at future stopovers, creating opportunities for members to connect with the project and its mission firsthand.
Over the coming years, the expedition will visit destinations throughout the Mediterranean, bringing visibility to both Help Save the Med and SITE through local engagement, media coverage, and educational programming. These stopovers present exciting opportunities to showcase how partnerships can create meaningful experiences while supporting important environmental and social initiatives.
While the educational program will pause during the summer months to accommodate school holidays, the team will use this time to plan future activities and maximize the impact of upcoming stopovers.
The expedition is also actively seeking patrons and sponsors to support its continued growth and reach. As the program develops, there may be opportunities for SITE members, chapters, and partners to become involved and help expand its impact across the region.
